Update: Military Road Now Open In Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Military Road reopened Wednesday night after a sinkhole closed the road most of the day.

Columbus public works crews spent much of Wednesday patching a massive hole, near Black Creek Road intersection.

Tuesday’s heavy rains washed out the area underneath the road.

Traffic had to be rerouted.

Some shoulder work still needs to be done.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the area.
