Video: Update: No Charges To Be Filed Over Mosque Facebook Post, As Of Now

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – There is extra police presence around the mosque in Starkville after a potentially threatening post on social media.

Starkville Police Chief Frank Nichols says his department investigated a Facebook post that talks about burning down the mosque.

Nichols says right now, the investigation is inactive, but detectives continue to monitor the situation.

The unidentified person made statements suggesting the Islamic Center of Mississippi be burned down.

SPD was notified yesterday evening about the comments. No one was charged.

Nichols says officers will continue the extra patrols in the area.
