COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — DNA evidence from a Louisiana man will be tested in connection with several unsolved deaths in Columbus.

Columbus investigators were in Ruston, Louisiana last week to obtain DNA.

Chief Selvain McQueen says forensic experts will compare that evidence with materials from as many as six unsolved homicides dating from 1996 to 2001.

McQueen says the suspect is known to have been in the area during the times of at least some of the deaths.

Among the cases are the 2001 death of Annie Lou Swoope and the 1998 murders of Betty Everett and Louise Randall.
