Vardaman Kicks Off Sweet Potato Festival

VARDAMAN, Miss. (WCBI) — It’s a sweet fall tradition in North Mississippi.

Vardaman residents hosted their annual Sweet Potato Festival, Saturday.

The event kicked off with 5K run and walk.

There were more festival highlights later in the morning, like sweet potato food tasting, and a pie eating contest.

The festival continues Sunday, with the Sweet Potato King and Queen Pageants throughout the week.
