Vernon Leaders Look to Remove Election Candidate Signs

VERNON, Ala. (WCBI) — It’s been a month since voters went to the polls in Lamar County, Ala. and they don’t return until November.

But dozens of campaign signs still line city streets in Vernon, Ala., and the city wants them gone.

City leaders are warning candidates no longer in races that will be on the November general election ballot to remove their signs from city streets. If city crews have to remove them, the city will send the candidate a bill.

The candidates have two weeks to act before city crews go to work.
