Video: 18th Annual Artesia Days Festival Kicks Off

ARTESIA, Miss. (WCBI) -A weekend of family fun started Thursday in Artesia. The 18th Annual Artesia Days Festival got off to a wet and wild start with giant water slides for the kids and a school supply giveaway.

There will be good food and great music all weekend long, and more activities for the kids. Things wrap up with a baseball double-header on Sunday.

Organizers see it as a way to bring the community together.

“We can expect a lot of fun, a lot of people home, and just having a great time with the community of Artesia. It’s a big family reunion that we have. That we have once a year; the first weekend of August, been doing it for 18 years.”

Weekend Activities include:  Friday – 5:00 P.M. Opening Ceremony and Block Party with D.J. Love Bone – Motivational Speakers, and Night Time Blues with Charles Wilson and Jawon.

Saturday – 7:00 -8:00 A.M. Walking for a Cure – 2:00P.M. Opening Ceremony – Face Painting with Mrs. Dee, Cake Walk, Bingo, Door Prizes, and Music featuring: D. Mayfield, Angeletta, Mark Swissboy Selive, and more.  Beginning at 7:00P.M. Big Pooky Bear, Mrs. Jodie, and  Wendell B.

Sunday – 3:00 P.M. Artesia vs. Starkville Tigers Baseball Double-header.
