COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Ask almost any bride-to-be and they’ll tell you their wedding is one of the most important days of their life. For some, the planning is a stressful process but it doesn’t have to be. WCBI’s 22nd Annual Bridal Showcase was hosted this weekend, drawing in hundreds of excited brides to see what vendors have to offer.

The Trotter Convention Center in downtown Columbus was filled with soon-to-be bride’s and vendors for the annual WCBI Bridal Showcase. From catering, to photography and bridal boutiques, there is something for every bride.

Mallory Trotter is newly engaged and this is her first bridal show to attend. She says she’s excited to spend the day looking at what local vendors have to offer for her big day.

“I called up my friend Taylor, who is also a bride-to-be and so we decided it would be just fun to spend the morning here,” said newly engaged, Mallory Trotter.

At this showcase, Mallory has her eye on something special.

“I think the fashion show is probably the main thing that I’m really excited about seeing,” added Trotter.

Mallory’s friend says she’s here for moral support, but also to see what special touches she can add to her big day.

“You get all caught up in this bridal business, you forget the small details and so it was really good to come and figure all this out and have people give me ideas for my wedding,” said bride-to-be, Taylor Williams.

Not only is the showcase helpful for brides planning their big day, but it also benefits businesses.

Sherri McCrary owns “Events By Sherri Lynn,” offering just about any service to brides, from planning and coordinating to decorating.

“It’s been a wonderful experience and the brides, they were all asking questions and so I was able to walk them through just to let them know what to look at, about venues and just me services. Yes, I will definitely be back next year,” said Sherri McCrary.

This year, there were 45 vendors on hand, guaranteeing there’s something for every type of bride. Door prizes were also given out to brides from several local businesses.

Organizers hope to grow the showcase every year.
