Video: 4-Lane Highway 6 Slated to Open Tomorrow

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — The 4-lane Highway 6 from Tupelo to Batesville will open at 11 p.m. tomorrow.

The planned opening was pushed back one week because of rain, but now The Missisisppi Department of Transportation says all of the last minute work is finished.

The section set to open runs from South Gloster Street near the Tupelo-Verona city limits to Highway 342 in Pontototoc County. This will provide a 4-lane link from Tupelo to Interstate 55. Transportation leaders say it should ease heavy truck traffic in the Tupelo city limits.
