ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI)- The controversy over a hired versus an elected police chief could dominate a town hall meeting in Aberdeen Tuesday (12-11) night.  Since taking office this summer, Aberdeen Mayor Cecil Belle has been hosting monthly town hall meetings to update residents on issues and take public input. His next one is 6 p.m. Tuesday night at city hall. The changing the city charter concerning the election of the police chief is one of the topics. Belle also hopes to discuss economic development, his proposed adopt-a-park program, efforts to expand housing opportunities and beautification efforts.
