ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — An Aberdeen man who wants to be Monroe County Tax Assessor is booted off the ballot, and he says he was not counting on being left out.

Aberdeen resident Cornelius Miller tells WCBI News, members of the Democratic Executive Committee informed him that his letter of intent to run had two names on it.

Miller also, according to him forgot to check three boxes on the paper, but Miller claims he has qualified the exact same way for the last four years.

“I had qualified under Cornelius Davis Miller, which is my name. And my license shows Cornelius L. Davis. But the social security number matches. So they took it that I had like qualified under two names,” said Cornelius Miller/Aberdeen Candidate.

Miller has filed an appeal with the State Democratic Committee to get his name back on the ballot.
