ABERDEEN, Miss (WCBI) — Aberdeen city leaders are looking to build new homes as a way to spruce up the city.

They held a town hall meeting Thursday night to discuss housing development in vacant city lots in different parts of town.

Mayor Cecil Belle tells WCBI 14 people have been approved to live in these homes once they’re built.

The houses will be funded with grant money.

No timetable has been set yet, but Mayor Belle hopes construction will begin in 90 days.
