Video: Acclaimed Mississippi Artist and Chef Team up to Help Lee County Library

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -Tupelo was celebrating the Visual arts and the Art of Food.Watercolorist Wyatt Waters and Chef Robert Saint John headlined “A Novel Affair” – a fundraiser for the Friends of the Lee County Library

The event at the Bancorpsouth Conference Center is the first large scale fundraiser of this type for the Lee County Library and the dinner was a sell out.

“I think it’s huge and I’m from Hattiesburg, we had a library that was old it had been around for a long time the community got behind it, we passed a referendum, i think a bond issue and it went, like 85 percent in favor, hope you guys can do it up here, libraries are so important, they are not by any means, outdated or out of style.”

Participants enjoyed a special Italian dish created by St. John and Waters painted a watercolor of the evening, which was auctioned off.
