Video: Ackerman Water Customers to Get New Meters

ACKERMAN, Miss. (WCBI) -Ackerman city leaders are changing out old water meters for newer ones. It will cost the town $200,000.00 to buy 850 new meters.

Mayor Dick Cain says the new devices should give a more accurate reading, and will be scanned by an employee from the road.

Town leaders are taking bids for installation of the new meters.

Right now, it takes two city workers 2 days to read residential meters. With the new meters, it will take one person about three hours to get accurate readings.

Sealed bids will be opened October 22nd at 10 am.
