STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — A local sorority uses the Martin Luther King holiday to serve.

The Starkville chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority spent the morning sprucing up the West Oktibbeha Elementary School campus. The women joined several other organizations for the project facilitated by “Volunteer Starkville.”

Volunteers cleaned classrooms and the school library. They also raked and bagged leaves, washed sidewalks, and worked on the playground area.

Sorority members even brought along their children to help in the effort.
