Video: Alabama Governor Studying use of Drones in the State

MONTOGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Alabama is looking to add drones to the mix in several areas of operations.

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley today announced the creation of the Alabama Drone Task Force.

In order to compile the necessary requirements to use the drones, the task force will review Federal Aviation Administration regulations for drone use.

The state is hoping to utilize the drones in agriculture, conservation and law enforcement.

The task force will host its first meeting Aug. 29 in Montgomery; the statewide drone management plan must be on Bentley’s desk by January 15, 2015.
