Video: Alert Citizen Helps Police Nab Burglars

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Two burglars are in custody thanks to a citizen’s willingness to get involved.

It all started about 11 Thursday morning when burglars were spotted taking televisions out of an apartment at the Colonial Townhouses.

A good Samaritan gave police a description of their getaway truck and followed the burglars until officers could join in.

The burglars then abandoned their truck on Winchester and fled into the Lee Park area where police were able to track them down and arrest them.

Arrest warrants have not been signed against the suspects.

So far, no names have been released by Columbus police.
