Video: Amory Railroad Festival Begins

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — Music food and fun was the order of the day during opening ceremonies of the 37th annual Railroad Festival in Amory.

Miss Amory Railroad and Miss Junior Railroad Festival were introduced to festival goers gathered at Frisco Park Thursday evening. Headline act, 2014 winner of the Voice, Craig Wayne Boyd entertained the crowd. A large $10,000.00 check from the Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad was donated to the Amory Railroad Committee.

“We are presenting the funds to the railroad festival to keep with the progression of this railroad town. Its to enhance the ability for the people to come out and understand what we are doing here in Amory Mississippi,” said Isiah Waller/BNSF Train Master.

The Amory Railroad Festival has been attracting upwards of 60,000 visitors each year since 1979.
