AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — A new school year is just around the corner.

That’s why the Amory Junior Auxiliary hosted a “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive Saturday at the Amory Walmart.

The group started collecting the supplies at 8 a.m., and finished at 2 p.m.

Organizers say it’s imporatant for the kids to be prepared.

“Just give them school supplies,” said organizer Sarah Clark. “We know if we start off the year with a good set of supplies, and we’re prepared for the year, it starts off with a really good start. We want to get these kids prepared, so their focus will be on learning instead of what they don’t have compared to their friends. ”

The Amory Junior Auxiliary helps Monroe County children and their families.
