FULTON, Miss. (WCBI) -Lots of hard work, volunteer hours and fundraising has paid off for special needs students at a Fulton school. The handicapped accessible playground at the Itawamba Attendance Center is open and special needs students and those in other classes are now able to enjoy the playset.

It took more than a year of planning, and fundraising by the non profit group known as “April’s Angels” but this summer, the 100 thousand dollar covered playground was installed. Organizers say all the hard work is worth it.

“The kids are enjoying it, it’s great to see them play and the kids in wheelchairs to be able to come by and have access to all the equipment.”

A community celebration will be held as soon as handicapped accessible sidewalks are installed.
