CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) -Payne Chapel Church youth members volunteer at Contact Help Line to deliver gifts to the elderly today. Contact Helpline provides daily calls to the elderly and disabled who live alone throughout the year. The Clay County church took the gift boxes to residents, that included blankets, toiletries and everyday items.

Mary Vance says this is a great way to teach children how to give back, especially during the holiday season.

“We want our young people to understand that Christmas is about more than just receiving,” said Mary Vance of Payne Chapel.

Jonathan Kay said, “It’s really fun doing it because you can go out, see the elderly people, make them laugh and that kind of stuff.”

Payne Chapel Church youth members have delivered gifts to the elderly at Christmas since 2011.
