WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Election day is Tuesday and preparations continue at north Mississippi courthouses.

Clay County Circuit clerk Bob Harrell says his staff has been preparing for the past six months. With a hotly contested District Attorney’s race and a pair of county offices up for grabs, he expects Tuesday to be hectic, but not as busy as the primary elections.

“Pretty much getting the absentees altogether for the poll workers and getting those together. The boxes will be going out today, getting all of the last minute details, memory cards, voter access cards, supervisor keys, getting them altogether to go out to the polls.”

Election Officials remind everyone to be prepared to show a picture I.D. When they go to the polls.
