Video: Area Ports See Share of MDOT Grant Money to Improve Facilities

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Two North Mississippi ports receive more than$500,000.00 each for improvements.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation says more than $504,000.00 in grant money will be used to extend and upgrade existing rail spur at the Lowndes County Port, along the East Bank.

Over$612,000.00 in grant money will be used to extend existing rail spur at the Northeast Mississippi Waterway Industrial Park in Iuka.

MDOT says the improvements help support economic development along the state’s waterways.
