COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Mike Hurst, the Republican candidate for Attorney General, stopped by Columbus today for his campaign.
Hurst spent the morning introducing himself to members of the community and informing voters on what he has done to fight public corruption in our state. He has previously served as Assistant United States Attorney in the criminal division.

Hurst has been actively campaigning for a little more than three months and will be in north Mississippi for the remainder of the week.

“I am going to prosecute public corruption. I’m going to start day one, cause I already know where all the bad guys are and we are going to clean up our state for our kids. The other thing that I’m going to do differently, is push back, and what I mean by that is there are all kinds of regulations and red tape in bureaucracy coming down from Washington D.C. telling us how to run our state and how to live our lives and that’s got to stop.”

Hurst is running against Democratic candidate Jim Hood, and the election will take place on November third.
