WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Just over a week until election night and many politicians are looking forward to the end of campaigning.

Incumbent Attorney General Jim Hood was in West Point Thursday  speaking with the Rotary Club.

Hood’s opponent Mike Hurst, claims Hood isn’t tough enough on public corruption to continue as attorney general. WCBI caught up with Hood to answer the allegations.

“I’ve prosecuted three times more cases of public corruption than my opponent. You know, it’s funny, it’s ironic often times in politics you, but when you learn the facts and most of the time people get it, you know, they vote on experience and who they like and they’ve done that the past 12 years and hopefully they’ll continue to do that.”

The general election is coming up November 3rd.
