Video: Black History Month At Cook In Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss.(WCBI)–Students faculty staff and parents at Cook Elementary school got a treat for their Black History Month observance.

Negro League Historian and author Larry Lester talked about the history of baseball, even mentioning past female managers of the game of baseball Thursday at the school.

A relative of legendary baseball player Satchel Paige was at the school.

His oldest son Robert Paige also spoke with those gathered at the Columbus school.

Satchel Paige, a major league pitcher who once played with the Negro League, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971.
