MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Monroe County authorities have found the body of a man who’s been missing for nearly 3 months.

Investigators located William Harold Wright’s, 69, body in the cab of his 2004 Ford Ranger around 6:00 p.m Wednesday.

Authorities blocked off parts of Bartehatchie Rd. The truck was found submerged in a creek east of the Buttahatchee River.

“We received a tip that possibly a truck down here on Bartehatchie Road near Cochran Bridge. We came down, checked it out. Sure enough, it was the vehicle of Mr. Wright. Mr. Wright was in the vehicle. My heart goes out to the family. It’s just a bad situation,” says Cantrell.

Wright was last seen April 11th. Sheriff Cantrell says it is too early to determine if foul play was involved.

Officials will take Wright’s body to Jackson Thursday to determine his cause of death.
