TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Fitness fanatics will be able to test their skills this weekend. The second annual Boerner Be Wild Fitness Challenge takes place Saturday at the NMMC Community walking track. Participants will flip tires, climb walls, crawl through obstacles and perform other tasks along the 17 station course.

It is named after the late Hank Boerner, who was director of the wellness center for many years. Boerner was an advocate of teaching kids about the benefits of living healthy lifestyles.

“Hank was promoting that for years and so we want to remember his name and give grants out to kids that people are going to use to actually educate kids on physical fitness,” said Philip Raper, Director of NMMC Wellness Center.

The fitness challenge is sponsored by the Healthy Tupelo Task Force.
