Video: Bomb Scare Closes CAFB Main Gate
COLUMBUS AFB, Miss. (WCBI) – A morning scare temporarily shuts down the Columbus Air Force Base’s main gate.A routine vehicle inspection at the main gate resulted in a hit from the base’s bomb-sniffing dog at about 10 this morning.
Security forces cleared the area to safely investigate what triggered the trained dog’s reaction.Personnel worked in conjunction with the Tupelo bomb squad to fully examine the area.
Further information into the incident was not readily available, but some two hours after the initial closure personnel reopened the main gate.
