Video: Bridge Under Construction in New Albany

NEW ALBANY, Miss. – (WCBI) A small portion of the Tanglefoot Trail in New Albany will be closed for a short time, as an old bridge gets a major overhaul. Two new sections will replace the old bridge on Main Street. For years, trucks have hit the low clearance bridge, which now supports a part of the Tanglefoot Trail.

Both new sections are in the parking lot by the library, waiting to be put into place. The old railroad bridge will need to be removed first.

Workers will also have to reshape the banks under the structure, pour concrete supports and then assemble the new bridge. That work should take about two weeks, so the section of the trail will be closed at that time.
