WEST POINT, Miss.(WCBI)–The Ritz Theatre in downtown West Point became a fitting place for a laid back appreciation luncheon for educators, businesses, and citizens, on Friday, that partner with the local school district’s Bright Horizons.

“Dynasty”, the West Point School District’s Show Choir, provided the entertainment for those who mentor students weekly and make monetary donations to Bright Horizons. Contributors of time and money received a brick type plaque during the event.

“Whether it is an act of service or a monetary donation it does help. It makes a difference in the life of a child. Whether they are reading, or whether they are giving money for books, or supplemental activities. So we really appreciate the partners and what they do for our schools,” said West Point School District Bright Horizons coordinator Nancy Young.

15 new partners are joining about 100 other businesses and mentors who help with the Bright Horizons mission.
