BRUCE, Miss. (WCBI) — Bruce honored local military men and women at its Memorial Day Service. Residents gathered around the town’s gazebo where they sang the National Anthem and joined in the Pledge of Allegiance. Guest speakers included Vietnam Veteran, Reverend Dwight Brown, along with Ladies Auxiliary, Mary Clark.

Bruce Alderwoman Ellen Shaw says it is important to remember those who gave their all for our freedom.

“I think it reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice that the people have paid,” said Bruce Alderman, Ellen Shaw. “You know we take it for granted a lot and we realize this is a great day to realize what they’ve done for us for our freedom.”

Bruce hosts the event every year.
