COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A member of the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau Board has stepped down for health reasons after three years.

Bernard Burkhalter was appointed by the Columbus City Council to represent the restaurant and dining industry on the nine-member board which oversees the CVB’s policies and operations.

Councilmen will appoint a replacement in January to serve the remaining six months on Burkhalter’s terms.

Applicants must work in the restaurant industry or be recommended by someone in management in that industry.
