CALHOUN CITY, Miss. (WCBI) – Some Calhoun City High students are getting caught in the middle of the teacher shortage. Advanced math classes at Calhoun City High had to be dropped for the semester because a teacher for the higher placement courses could not be hired. The move does not mean the kids wanting the advanced classes are completely out of luck. About 25 of them will be bussed to either Vardaman or Bruce to take the classes. School administrators say they hope to hire the needed teacher before the start of the spring semester.
