Video: CEC Announces Annual State Trooper of the Year Award

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The Columbus Exchange Club announces its annual State Trooper of the Year Award.

State Trooper Gregory Bell of Troop G in Starkville received the prestigious honor during the Columbus Exchange Club luncheon Thursday at Lion Hills Center and Golf Course.

Bell has been a trooper now for two years and spent a year with the Starkville Police Department.

“Being, you know a state trooper is one of the most rewarding, you know career choices that you can make. You truly make a difference in your community. You know you impact peoples’ lives every day,” Bell said.

Trooper Bell now competes for the State Trooper of the Year Award to be held in Jackson. Troop G is responsible for patrolling a 10-county area of the state.
