COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Spending time with family and friends, opening gifts, enjoying some of your favorite foods is what most of you do on Christmas Day, but there are those who make the sacrifice to work during the holiday season. Some holiday workers are saving Christmas Day for last minute Christmas shoppers.

“Well, I just tell them to make the best of the moment because you have customers coming in that want some great customer service, so to make the day go by quicker, it’s best to have a good attitude.”

That’s some sound advice from ten year Walgreen’s employee Laquana Butler who instead of spending time with her three year old daughter on this Christmas Day, is working to help those last minute holiday shoppers. and the customers are nothing less than appreciative.

“Oh, this is truly a blessing because people like me that shop at all anyway and hate the crowds and it’s good for people like me just to be able to go somewhere this morning.”

“I’m very grateful that Walgreen’s is open today on this Christmas Day. I think it’s a great sacrifice that the workers have volunteered to work today. I can get my last minute Christmas shopping and i can make someone else happy today and it’s all due to god and Walgreen’s.”

And that type of appreciation is what helps workers like the Walgreen’s employees who are putting in hours today to stay in happy holiday spirits of kindness and giving to others.

“Enjoy your family and look forward to a better year next year.”
