COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) The Columbus Municipal school district wants to clear a path to graduation. Dr. Philip Hickman introduced the Pathways to Graduation in a town hall style Thursday night.

The program is designed to create a personalized approach to academic success for 3rd graders, to take all the way through their senior year and beyond.

From exposure to different career fields to courses that will prepare them for college, Dr. Hickman says the taylor made education will better prepare the students for the future.

“We start from a K-12 perspective. We really hit it at young age and we strengthen their knowledge of colleges and careers that are out there, the STEM field, and all the things that are necessary for them to be successful in the 21st century,” says Dr. Hickman.

A series of meetings will be held through the next two weeks. Times and locations are listed below.
