COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Columbus may have taken a hint from the old TV show Sanford and Son. And it’s paid off to the tune of more than $100,000.

The city recently sold more than $10,000 worth of everything from old signs to engine parts for scrap.

On top of that, a weekend auction of everything from an unused paver to old speakers from the Trotter Convention Center netted another $90,000.

The money will be used for new equipment and other expenses.
