Video: Columbus Marks Martin Luther King, Jr. Day With Marches and Good Works

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Columbus residents marched hand in hand in honor of the late Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. The group gathered at Missionary Union Baptist Church where they marched nearly a mile to the former Hunt High School. State  Senator, David Jordan addressed the marchers at Hunt. The march is to help promote progress and growth while bringing the community together.

All throughout Columbus, volunteers offered a helping hand as a part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Groups gathered at different locations including the Boys and Girls Club, Columbus Community Outreach and Loaves and Fishes. Volunteers helped each organization spring clean their facility to and prepare for their next events. Some volunteers even included the 14th OSS from Columbus Air Force Base.
