COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Columbus residents wanting to speak at city council meetings must go through a process before taking the microphone.

Today, a committee stuck with proposed rules first unveiled last week. Those rules include submitting a form detailing the subject matter six days before council meetings, a five minute limit and a maximum three appearances per year.

The council will take up the rules at their meeting Tuesday.
