Video: Community Effort Breathes New Life Into Aberdeen Park

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) -A park in Aberdeen may be getting a new lease on life. Acker park has been in the crosshairs of a community revitalization project, but work slowed several months ago. Things are now back on track. Landscaping around the park is creating a more open atmosphere.

“As we get everything fixed up, we are going to put in a pollinated garden, a butterfly garden in the memory of Clair Mattox, one of our citizens that just passed away, and just kind of fit it up. We got the old structure too, can have weddings, concerts, political rallies. Just a lot of different things.”

The city is working with engineers on potential additions to the park, including a splash pad and festival site.
