Video: Conservation Officers Save Columbus Boy From Drowning

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A day out swimming nearly turned tragic for am 11 year-old boy in Columbus. The boy was swimming with a friend in the Tenn-Tom Waterway near the Columbus River Walk just after 2:00 pm Monday when he went under water.

Two Officers with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, Mark McLesky and Travis McDonald, were patrolling the nearby waters.

They jumped in and pulled the boy to safety. When Columbus Fire Rescue got there, the child was breathing. He was taken by ambulance to Baptist Golden Triangle.
