Video: Conservationists Pass Out Seedlings

CHICKSAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- It’s Arbor Day and many conservation’s are making a day of it.

The Chicksaw County Soil and Water Conservation District is celebrating Friday (2-8-13) by giving free seedlings to the public as a part of their “Tree Planting Week.”

Persimmon, black walnut, redbud, river birch, cypress, sawtooth oak, white flowering dogwood,and loblolly pine seedlings are available to all and are a first come first serve basis.

The tree give away began at 8 Friday (2-8-13)  morning at the USDA Center on Lee Horn Drive in Houston.

Conservationists will be in Okolona at the downtown Mini Park at one Friday afternoon giving out seedlings too.
