LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Lowndes County students are getting a fresh start to their school year with free book bags.

Contact Helpline held a back-to-school bag giveaway and information health fair at the American Legion Hut in Columbus.

The agency handed out 500 backpacks to elementary and middle school students.
