Video: Contact Helpline Spreads Christmas Joy

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Contact Helpline is going above and beyond their usual call of duty, by helping to bring Christmas Joy to senior citizens and the disables served by the non-profit organization.

Being connected by phone helps in dealing with additions, loneliness, health, and emergency issues. Each day phone calls are made to hundreds of clients to make sure they are safe and kept reassured they have not been forgotten.

“Socks, scarfs, gloves, things to keep them warm. We notice that mostly elderly people they are cold in winter time and they like something that’s cozy for them to wrap up. And we feel this is the way we can give back to them. Something they can have from Contact Helpline,” said Katrina Sunivelle, Executive Director-Contact Helpline.

Contact Helpline angel tree is located in Walmart for purchases items for a wish list.

On the list of items are men and women caps, socks, gloves, toiletries, scarves, plastic shoe boxes, small throws or lap blankets. Make checks payable to Contact Helpline.
