COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) A controlled burn last month has created some confusion.

Patrons of the Pit and Cone restaurant were devastated to see flames shooting from the Tuscaloosa St. building back in July. What some didn’t know was that the popular eatery had relocated to Alabama St., and that the building was burned on purpose.

Owner Maggie Thompson says not all diners have received the message.

“We want people to know that the business didn’t burn. the building burned but the business itself is still going strong and we still got a lot of good food,” says Thompson.

Pit and Cone is open from 11 a.m to 2 p.m M-Thu. They stay open until 8 p.m Friday and Saturday.
