Video: Youth Foundation Grants

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Organizations across Mississippi were recipients of donations allotted by the Northeast Mississippi Youth Foundation.

The student-run council is sponsored by the CREATE Foundation in Tupelo and encourages high school students to actively looks for ways to contribute to their local area. Students came from Benton, Lafayette, Pontotoc and other counties.

“One of our main goals with this program is to teach the 11th and 12th grade students how to give back to their community. We try to teach leadership skills and just the importance of giving back,” said Jennie Hannah, sponsor of the CREATE Program.

This year students raised over $90,000 in endowments to donate to local organizations.
