COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Local runners are hitting the pavement, all for a good cause.

The Golden Triangle Down Syndrome Association hosted it’s “Dash For Downs” run on Saturday.

A 5K and a 1-mile fun run was held, with other family fun activities at the Columbus Riverwalk.

The group meets monthly during the school year to offer support for those living with down syndrome and their family.

March 21st is National Down Syndrome Awareness Day.
