Video: Dead Alligator Shocks Riverwalk Goers

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — 911 dispatch received an interesting call Saturday morning about an alligator near the Columbus Riverwalk.

The 10 foot alligator was dead along the bank directly across from the riverwalk.

Conservation officer, Mark McLesky, with Mississippi’s Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks arrived on scene to examine the alligator.

McLesky determined the alligator was dead for a few days but unclear as to how it died.

Alligator hunting season started last night.
