Video: Death Row Inmate Transferred to Tishomingo Co.

TISHOMINGO COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The woman convicted of killing her husband at their Iuka home 15 years ago is heading back to Tishomingo County.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections says Michelle Byrom was released to the county’s custody, Saturday.

Byrom has been at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility after being convicted of capital murder, and sentenced to death in Tishomingo County in 2000.

The case has since been sent back to Tishomingo County Circuit Court.

The Mississippi Supreme Court has granted her a new trial.
