TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The Democratic challenger for the Senate seat in Mississippi spent the last day before the election making one final push to voters. Monday afternoon, Travis Childers flew back into Tupelo where he left from this morning on a tour throughout the state.

The former congressman, who is a real estate broker based in Booneville, flew to Meridian, Laurel, Hattiesburg, Jackson , and Greenville. Childers says he believes voters are ready for a change in Washington D.C.

“One thing that has been clear as we travel around the state, most people feel, after 42 years of the same failed policies, they’re ready for a change and if we’re going to change, how we do business in Washington, the change starts here, we change who we send and I’m asking the voters to join me in sending a message tomorrow, it’s time for a change.”

Childers faces longtime incumbent Republican Thad Cochran for the senate seat.
